Transcendental Receptivity Via Yoga Teacher Training

Tah Groen: I love to acknowledge synchronized moments when the layers that make up life become intertwined to deliver Transcendence. This happened for a group of complete strangers in a yoga Shala on top a roof in San Diego. In an epiphany of synchronicity, Healing Touch Vinyasa Yoga Trainees got to experience more, more than just yoga (yes they got all that too) but the more being the mind blowing experience of opening the bridge, the connection between man and universe.

"We are part of this universe; we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us." Neil deGrasse Tyson

The feeling of effortless receptivity permeates the entire training not just for me but for everyone. The air surrounding our yoga circle is thick with spiritual support. A heavenly connection quite tangible empowers us. The magic begins.

The atmosphere is highly charged a co-creative energy fully alive with possibilities. So we are not surprised when magic begins to happen, through out the training as beautiful synchronized  moments become the norm.

Like finding in Iyengar's Light On Yoga book the exact pose we wanted the Sanskrit name for. A simple choice to slid with enough force our Yoga Bible across the circle to a trainee, who effortlessly (as she herself is in the dedicated pose) opens the book right on to the desired page. Not a fumble of a search but an absolute perfectly timed discovery. Yes we celebrate that.

First Ceremony Night

First Ceremony Night

Silly but significant; by no planning on the part of myself end up wearing the exact same flowing purple shirts as Arati (our other lead teacher) and realize this has not been the first time.

Or those morning sessions where we are gathered outside La Jolla Cove; an environment ripe for observing synchrony, as Mother Nature tends to amplify. The group basks in the sweetness of connection, circle time having become our go to - a comfort zone of sorts. It is here that we are fully engaged with each other, yet sense the comings and goings of a busy park.

We are surrounded by gigantic waves crashing on all sides and realize the loudest blast of ocean and rocks coming together became in sync with the articulation of the words "crashing waves" as we were guided into meditation. Yes it was a big wave day and extremely high winter tides in late February. The echo of sacred timing undeniably heard by all. I take these moments and celebrate connectivity.

It is even amazing to see the birds reaction to us, each day flocks of doves and seagulls circled above us. Such a rush of wings, flying fast, swooping low to come closer to our energy, not once but multiple times. In unison we all look up to acknowledge their presence, subtle as a wave, or the right page of a yoga book. Seemingly mundane moments becoming extraordinary, waiting to be celebrated.

Our group dynamic empowers this level of transformation, such a positive experience of exponential growth. We are all in this together; yet include each individual Soulful expansion as a reflection of vibration. It's the inner work that become the specifics of life, the contribution to the whole.

A profound and powerful connection to divinely inspired manifestation, not only plays it's self out as a co creativeforce; but is realized individually as well.

Epilogue

Trainees share their personal stories of spiritual transformation, the clarity of inspired action becoming the new normal. Pleasantly surprised that our process of learning has touched all areas in their lives. As we focus on alignment of body, mind and spirit our vibration raises to manifest more of the desired life into reality.

Evident as material shifts become real, not with extreme effort but with the effortlessness of becoming the next logical step forward.

Simplified examples shared by our Trainees of their intentions made real, whether conscious or unconscious the minusiea of the experience is undoubtedly theirs...

We have....

• long needed to happen breakups

• work promotions

• work bonuses becoming reality

• new opportunity to teach yoga classes

• newly created workshops

• Ideal living spaces revealed

• supportive community bonds created

• career paths magically appear

Our Graduation night

Our Graduation night

Are we in Pitaya HEAVEN?

Pitaya - I always get asked about Pitaya - what kind of fruit is it? Why is it so pink? Is that natural? Is it good for you...? Well - here are the answers. And along with those, a little slice of HEAVEN right from the Trilogy rooftop..... intrigued...? Well you should be!

SO - What is Pitaya Anyway…?

Pitaya is also know as Dragon Fruit. In tropical and subtropical regions in South America and Asia, the dragon fruit flourishes and grows in abundance. Appropriately named, the dragon fruit’s outer skin is cactus-like, resembling that of the scales of a mythical dragon. Considered a cactus plant, its vibrant green and reddish-pink hues indicate that the fruit is full of nutrients, while the creamy white flesh spotted with black seeds gives way to many rich and natural properties.

Also known as pitaya, these fun-looking fruits contain around 60 calories each and are rich in vitamin C, B1, B2 and B3, and minerals such as iron, calcium, and phosphorus. And that’s not all. This is definitely one of the best “super fruits” out there.

Dragon fruit has an extremely low amount of cholesterol, which ultimately helps the body break down this fruit quickly, keeping you happy and healthy. It’s the perfect fruit to maintain your weight and satisfy your sweet tooth.

To clean up your digestive system, eat a dragon fruit. They have a high fiber content, which can assist with poor digestion and constipation. Eating the flesh and seeds, which contain good protein, will keep your body fortified and satisfied.

The high amount of fiber in dragon fruit can ultimately help regulate diabetes, as it can stabilize blood sugar levels by suppressing sugar spikes. However, with any dietary changes or modifications, always consult your doctor to make sure this is a good food for you.

Eating a dragon fruit with its rich antioxidants can keep the skin tight and young. You can even make a face mask using the fruit combined with honey as a natural alternative to anti-aging masks.

The Spell of Chemistry

They seemed to be luminescent, ethereal, all sitting together underneath a structure of cascading silks and candles lit ablaze. How did they all find each other, these glowing creatures? What chemistry bound the seemingly radioactive figures so that they gathered under the Full Moon at Trilogy Sanctuary?

There was no magic fairy dust that granted these humans a life of ease and joy. Their effortless dancing and explorative nature shone in each fire-lit baton and feather adorned costume, but these expressions are the symptoms of the labor of love. None of them has lived a life without a fair share of pain and struggle. Each creature proved home to a story of a once lost sense of self, an isolation that drove them mad, or a paralyzing fear of extending beyond a comfort zone. What rings true of human nature, is when lost, we tend towards isolation, which renders us unreachable and therefore helpless. “I’m different,” says fear. Now that “I’m different,” no one will understand me. And what’s worse is the reaction or vice I use to cope with being different is embarrassing, and I must hide it along with myself. We fear that no one and nothing will break the spell.

And so we find the community, our Tribe. A garden of humans who work together to grow as a whole. A labor of love. BIG love, the strongest antidote to fear and emotional paralysis. It really is funny that the last thing a depressed being wants is to be in a group, because they feel so obviously “different”.

Alone we are different, but together we belong.

The Tribe, strong and practiced, understands this feeling and has grown stronger beside it. These are the people who had to overcome the “different” once too in order to experience bliss. These are the people who seem to glow as they walk the streets with a lightness to their aura. The Tribe members. Most of these radioactive angels hardly know how to introduce themselves without an embrace. And it’s not just a hug. The hug is a symptom of and a metaphor for the way of being, where everything done is an act that closes the distance between hearts.

Maybe it’s only a hug. But maybe it’s more; a gesture that mends the chest and all its cavity’s innards together in a way that makes it whole so it too can radiate. The tribe reaches its arms out to heal, and to dance in the ease that is life’s sweetest nectar and most decadent bliss. All at once, the lonely is embraced as another has chosen to hold them as they bridge the gap between fear and freedom. When a broken heart enters the tribe, it is seen, heard, and nurtured. Body, mind, and soul.

Let the Fun Begin!!!

Wow, so it has almost been SIX MONTHS since I signed the lease on the property and we are still not open! I can’t believe it. If I had known the time it was going to take and the complications that would occur I might have reconsidered this whole project! What a ride it has been. But now I am here – and SO HAPPY to have gotten this far!! The last week or so I have gotten a little glimpse of what it will be like when we are FINALLY open! I have been in an huge empty space for six months now so it has been wonderful to have some people there with me!

One of our amazing Yoga Teachers, Gina, is a DJ, so she set up her decks on our movable bar and played a little mix.

We all got to enjoy some groovy and chilled beats while we shared some delicious food.

It was SO good to have a little glimpse of how lovely it is up on the terrace, meeting new people and generally hanging out.

Oh and this is our new super cozy corner...a giant mattress sprinkled with pillows! For all of those lazy afternoons.

These were some of the vegan treats we have been sampling the last few weeks…

Our PERFECT tacos!

Our Ginger and Adzuki bean spring rolls!

And our Bliss smoothie :)
